  • Chose to keep the family name (Estevez - instead of his father's professional name - Sheen) because it sounded better and was more romantic.
  • Listed as one of twelve Promising New Actors of 1985 in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 37.
  • Was the 1st choice to play John Bender THE BREAKFAST CLUB (1985), but when there was no one else available to play athletic Andrew Clark, Emilio had to take that part instead.
  • Was originally going to play Bender in THE BREAKFAST CLUB (1985), but Hughes couldn't find someone to play Andrew Clark so Emilio agreed to play Clark.
  • In the final battle at the end of YOUNG GUNS (1988), Billy the Kid (Estevez) shoots Charlie Crawford. Charlie Crawford is the name of his brother Charlie Sheen's character in the TV series SPIN CITY (1996).
