Quotes
  • "I needed to become something besides the star everybody had built me up to be."
  • "What I enjoy most about going out on stage is seeing all my fans react to my music."
  • "I'm not going to be 15 forever, I don't want to be 25 and people saying, 'Oh she was better back then."
  • "I never really had any friends my age. I've grown up in the adult world all my life."
  • "I love to drive, It's the only time I get to be alone."
  • "It's wonderful to have money. But It's good that I know what the other side is like. I don't take for granted what I have now."
  • "Everyday something new pops into my mind: I could do this next or I could do that next. I want to grow more and more and show people different sides of myself, whether it's different kinds of music, different kinds of movies, or different kinds of television."
  • "Hopefully people will grow with me, because I'm definitely not going to be stuck in one place all my life."
  • "I went through that stage every teenager goes through: Who am I? What am I? Where do I fit in? In my case I had to deal with newspapers saying I looked fat or tired or my hair was a mess. People always criticize: they either love you, or they don't. But you have to block that out and concentrate on the work. And I feel I am doing good work, and I'm finally getting to see who I really am."
  • "I know you can't go back, so I try to do all the things other teenagers do."
