- Although not related to Diane Keaton, he changed his last name to Keaton because he couldn't use the name Michael Douglas, and he liked the sound of her last name (according to Diane Keaton ... of course, Keaton isn't her last name either).
- His hobbies are fly-fishing and riding horses at his California ranch.
- His name did not come from his middle name. When he realized he needed to change his name, he had seen an article with a nice picture of Diane Keaton.
