- Was 25 years old when he was first cast as the 16 year old Xander Harris in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1997). Being older then most of the cast including David Boreanaz. Series Creator Joss Whedon has said that the idea for Buffy came from all the horror movies he had seen featuring a helpless young blonde who would almost always be the first to die.
